Residential Furniture Upholstery & Reupholstery

A well-made sofa, a set of dining chairs or a chair that has been in the family for years often has a frame worth keeping long after the fabric wears out. UpholsteryLink routes residential furniture upholstery requests to approved professionals who take them on.

What can be reupholstered

  • Sofas and couches

Full sofa upholstery or couch reupholstery, including seat and back cushions.

  • Sectionals

Every section recovered to match, or individual sections where only part is worn.

  • Armchairs and accent chairs

Chair reupholstery for club chairs, wingbacks, recliners and occasional chairs.

  • Dining chairs

Dining chair upholstery for seats and backs, from a pair to a full set.

  • Ottomans and benches

Ottoman, bench and window-seat upholstery, including tufted tops.

  • Headboards and custom pieces

Upholstered headboards and other custom furniture upholstery.

Reupholster or replace?

When does reupholstery make sense?
Usually when the frame is solid, the size and shape suit the room, or the piece matters to you. Sound hardwood frames are often worth recovering.
Can the cushions be refreshed too?
Yes. Furniture recovering can include new foam or cushion inserts where the old ones have flattened, and repairs to springs or webbing where needed.
Is this only for high-end furniture?
No. It covers quality pieces, family pieces and anything you’d rather keep than replace. The vendor quotes each piece after seeing it.
Can I supply my own fabric?
Often, yes — say so in the request. Otherwise the vendor can suggest fabrics suited to how the piece is used.
