Patio & Outdoor Furniture Upholstery
Outdoor cushions fade, flatten and hold moisture faster than anything indoors. UpholsteryLink routes patio and outdoor upholstery requests — for a home patio, or outdoor seating at a restaurant, hotel or community — to approved upholstery professionals.

Replacement and custom patio cushions
Most outdoor requests start with the cushions. Each is quoted by the approved vendor who takes it on.
Replacement patio cushions
New cushions made to the size of the ones you have, for chairs, loveseats, sofas and chaises.
Custom outdoor cushions
Cushions for unusual shapes, built-in benches and window or porch seating, made from measurements or a template.
New covers for existing inserts
When the foam is still sound, new outdoor-fabric covers can go on the cushions you have.
Outdoor furniture reupholstery
Upholstered outdoor seating recovered in outdoor-rated fabric, including matching sets.
Practical questions
- Should I recover my cushions or replace them?
- If the foam still holds its shape and has no mildew, new covers may be enough. If cushions have flattened, crumbled or stay damp, replacement patio cushions — new covers and new inserts — usually make more sense.
- Will I need new foam or cushion inserts?
- Often for older outdoor cushions. Outdoor cushions commonly use quick-drying foam that lets water drain through; the vendor confirms what your cushions need.
- Which fabrics hold up outdoors?
- Outdoor upholstery fabric is made for sun and moisture — solution-dyed acrylics and other outdoor-rated fabrics are common choices. The vendor recommends options for your exposure and use.
- What about sun and moisture?
- Full sun fades fabric and breaks down foam over time, and trapped water leads to mildew. Covered storage, drainage and outdoor-rated materials all extend cushion life.
- How are outdoor cushions cleaned?
- Removable, zippered covers make cleaning easier. Follow the fabric maker’s care instructions; many outdoor fabrics tolerate mild soap and water.
- What should I measure?
- Width, depth and thickness of each cushion, and the shape — for unusual shapes, a paper template or a photo with a tape measure in view helps. Note any ties, zippers or welting you want kept.
